#1 – The University of Louisville New Music Festival
The University of Louisville New Music Festival is an annual event that celebrates and showcases contemporary classical music. During this five day event, you can attend live concerts, consisting of performances by symphony orchestras, chamber groups, piano, and wind ensembles, and even computer music artists. Event goers can also attend master classes and lectures, covering topics ranging from composition to the exploration of the role of electronic instruments in classical music.

#2 – The Festival of Trees and Lights
Hosted by the Children’s Hospital Foundation, this annual event brings in hundreds of volunteers to design and decorate Christmas trees, wreaths, and hand-crafted holiday items. All of these items are for sale for event goers to take home, and all proceeds go to the Norton Children’s Hospital in downtown Louisville.

#3 – Lights Under Louisville
Each year, this Louisville, KY tradition brings in hundreds of people from all over to experience this holiday spectacular. The Louisville Mega Cavern is transformed into an underground light show, covering 17 miles of underground passageways and a 30-minute car ride for all to see over 850 lit characters with over 3 million points of light. This is the only light show of its kind on the planet.

#4 – A Fairy Tale Christmas
Everyone loves a good Christmas story. During this popular show, Cinderella and Snow White are preparing for the Crystal Christmas Ball, with the help of all your favorite fairy tale friends and characters. Light Up Louisville is held every year the day after Thanksgiving as a means of celebrating the arrival of the holiday season in the Louisville, KY area. The event includes the arrival of Santa Claus, who will help the mayor illuminate downtown Louisville and unite friends, family, and visitors together for an evening full of community excitement and entertainment. #6 – Sports Fest Louisville
After the holiday season comes to an end, this unique and interactive sports festival rolls into Louisville, KY. This event takes place at multiple locations across the country but makes a pit stop in Louisville, KY every year.
